Thanks gumba2468!
Does anyone know any good websites that list the average GPAs at different colleges?

2320 v. 228
(last year, only one sitting each)

In PA. for the last few years the cutoff score for semi-finalist was 215. Only a few states show a cutoff higher than that. From statistics posted on various threads on CC the statistics remained the same for the last few years. So, unless we kids got a lot smarter this time around the magic numbers should be the same.

All you need to do to find the average GPA of various schools is to go to the web site of a school you are interested in. Every school has the statistics of the prior year’s admitted class including GPA along with other helpful statistical information.

2400 v. 204 , I took the sat twice. 1st score was 2160. I realized there, that the SAT really is a pointless exam because I had no correlation between any of my grades, and if I took it the next time I probably would get like a 2000-2300. If thats the case then I really feel even though it benefits me, a perfect score, they shouldnt judge people solely on standarized tests rather on merit. because an idiot could do well and a smart guy could do poorly and it screws up their admissions.

I felt bad for my friends because they are really smart and have higher grades than me, but they cant even get into sunys because they have low sats.

The qualifying score for the PSAT for NMSF can vary up or down a few points from year to year, so the actual cut-off does affect folks who score near the cut-off. The “curve” is designed to only recognize the top 1/2% of all test-takers in each state.

2360 vs 240. I can live with that.

2120 vs. 228

2400 vs. 238 :)

I think i am sort of a underdog.
