New Surface 3 Owner--Any Others Out There?

S gave me a new Surface 3 with keyboard cover for Christmas. I’m still getting used to it, but so far, it seems pretty cool. I keep using the gestures and shortcuts I learned for my iPad mini and iPhone, but of course they don’t work. It’s definitely a learning curve. Anyone successfully migrated from one device to another? Any tips you’d like to share about what made the transition work better? Thanks!

We are considering buying Windows phones that should be nicely compatible with this new computer, but haven’t decided for sure yet. Would love to find good resources and information about this new device, tho we are slowly learning by experimenting.

HIMom, I have one and like it. Easy to work on the bus where personal space is in short supply.

There is apparently a MSFT store in Honolulu - they offer classes as I understand.

So far, I have been using it just like my regular laptop. I really like the on-cloud editing capabilities of the new Office.

Thanks–do you use it as a tablet or as a laptop on the bus? I’d imagine it gets crowded if you tried to use it as a laptop, as it takes up a bit of room while I’m using it as a laptop in my bed. I’m still trying to get used to the stylus and the different look and feel of everything. We do have PCs and desktops and S wanted me to have this as my laptop replacement (I’ve never really had a laptop and they thought it was ridiculous how much I tried to do on the iPad mini within it’s dinky screen).

Have been to the Microsoft store in Honolulu–it’s in Ala Moana, across from the Apple store (of course). Never thought about taking classes from them, but I guess it’s something to consider. I guess I may have to buy software to put on it.

On the bus… In the beginning of my journey, I use it as a laptop, but when the bus gets crowded, I flip over the keyboard cover and use it as a tablet.
