New teacher

When i started my senior year, i found out my school hired a new french teacher. he didn’t really teach anything for the higher level students. so…my sat II score wasn’t so great, but i’ve been getting a’s in his class. i think my counselor mentioned something about the new teacher in my recommendation…not sure.

i have been watching french movies to teach myself…should i mention this on my application?

i’m intl, and also had a similar prob - my last two years of french in school were dismal [no teacher/then new teacher/and then teacher who didn’t teach, but top french student]…i took the french test this month, watch french movies, etc [i’m on a gap yr] but i never mentioned this on any of my applications. there were other things that took preeminence…

so it all boils down to what you really want to put on your app. just give it some deep thought. “should i put it or not?” 5 minutes of intense thought should produce an answer…there were so many things i had to think about in this manner. just weigh it carefully. if it’s going to show a whole new side of you not represented anywhere else on your app, well go ahead. but remember your gc has mentioned something about it already. in my case, self-learning has been such a fundamental part of me and i’ve shown that on my app in many other more important ways, so i didn’t mention that…

so just prioritize, and you’ll surely find a way. good luck.

thank you very much  this problem has been distressing me.

welcome:) i must confess that there were many other app probs/questions that made me go hypertensive for weeks. but happily, i’m done with everything now. just relax, and g’luck with everything.
