Thanks travelnut for the correction, hate to see people dropped. It helps to keep the # count at top so new additions can make sure they don’t cut anyone off by mistake

Coldad, Sailingwest and S2- You continue to be in my thoughts, and I wish you strength and courage as you mourn Sunrise and face the upcoming challenges. We are here for you, as we were for your dear wife and mom. Thinking about you this snowy night in MA.

Would someone who saw the family preference for memorials in honor of Sunriseeast before it was deleted, kindly PM me? I will post when I got this information so you all won’t wonder and all PM me.

I understand that CC has standards re donations on this board. And we thank CC for providing a relatively safe harbor for College Parents to have discussed something as profound as fighting a life-threatening illness when your children are still in college.

However we parents repeatedly asked Coldad and family to direct us, and we had extensive contact with sunriseeast. Some of us still wish to privately send a memorial gift to honor this brave and articulate woman.

Coldad,
Hope you were able to get your new lungs. There are a lot of wonderful resources and support at [2ndwind.org - Second Wind Lung Transplant Association.](<a href=“Home - Second Wind Lung Transplant Association”>http://2ndwind.org/). It is full of folks who have greatly improved lives with their new lungs and celebrate the anniversary of when they started their new lives. Wishing the best to you, your sons and your loved ones at this challenging time.

Sunrise East was an amazing woman and her love lives on in you, your boys and the many lives she touched.
Aloha,
HImom

I spent quiet time thinking of the connection between Sunrise and Coldad’s transplant. There are no accidents. Sunrise had a hand…of that I am sure. Wishing the family the best of prayers and healing.

So far three of Sunriseeast’s online friends have contacted me to obtain the name of the non-profit selected by her family for anyone here who wishes to send a memorial to honor her.

I invite anyone who wishes to have that information to PM me.

Thinking of Coldad, Sunrisewest and his brother. May Coldad be surrounded by talented and caring health care professionals along with loving friends.

As a former employee of Sunriseeast (from around 2005-2007), I was so sad to hear of her passing. She was different from anyone I had worked for in the past, as she played the role of manager, mentor and friend in perfect balance. I will always remember her and miss her greatly.

Those who followed her posts can see the influence she had. I am so fortunate to have felt that influence in person. She taught me so much about being a better person - about being a smarter worker, about gracefully dealing with adversity and about doing things the right way.

I will always be greatful for her support and the lessons she shared with me. We will all miss you Sunriseeast.

I just realized this thread is listed under my name. I’m not sure why, as my post was not nearly the first one, and someone else was the OP and should be credited. I did write to the mods asking them to correct this (and to those asking me for information about sending donations, I don’t have it, so I can’t forward it on.)

I believe there may be a poster that does, though.

Another parent here gave me the deleted post information re the family’s preference for memorials. So far five CC parents have written me a PM to ask for the proper link. Please PM me if you wish to have this information.

It was a pleasure to read the above post from a former employee of SunriseEast, secgmodude.
