This is wonderful news. You will continue to be in our thoughts.

Thank you so much for updating us. I know Sunrise kept us abreast of her journey on this page and I didn’t hold out much hope that you would continue to let us know how you did…but how very thrilled I am that you did!!! I’m so glad you are on the road to a new beginning of next phase of your life and much healthier to help your sons through their journey. A mi shebeirach that you keep going from strength to strength.

Coldad,
There are so many things we will never understand, or, at least, not while we are in this phase of our being. I am so sorry that you and your boys have lost sunrise east but so happy for all the time that you had with her. There is no way there was any coincidence in the timing of the new set of lungs coming available for you. Whatever it it, it is bigger than we are, but the message is very loud and clear, coming from your beloved-go forward and live. Take who she was along with you as that was her gift.

You will move on in life and not need us here anymore but know you have this other circle of friends pulling for you, cheering for you, praying for you, and we will always look forward to hearing how you and the boys are doing.

Coldad, I am so happy to hear about your successful transplant, and I wish you a full recovery and many years of good health. Sunrise wrote here of her longing to be there for your sons’ milestones. How tragic it is that she won’t be there, but how wonderful that you will be, God willing.

Thank you for the update.

Coldad,

So absolutely delighted to hear that your transplant seems to be a success. I know every breathe you take will be bittersweet for awhile, but taking care of your boys while they take care of you is the best way to honor Sunrise.

Sending you a refu’a shleima…

I’m not sure if I could have said it better than dowzerw. What an eloquent post.

Coldad, I know right now you and your sons are mourning the loss of Sunrise East and how intense your grief feels right now. From someone who is nearing the one year anniversary of the loss of her spouse, there is light at the end of the tunnel. Although there will always be a hole in your heart, eventually, you will feel glimpses of joy and hope for the future, especially involving your two sons.

Take care of yourself, Coldad.

coldad,
Your generosity of spirit in continuing to keep us updated shines through. May you go from strength to strength and know that your beloved sunriseeast is continually shining down on you and your sons. Take a deep breath with your new lungs and enjoy your family.

Thinking about you and your family, coldad.

(And bumping the thread so if you come back soon, you will find it on page 1)

he’s busy BREATHING! whew! hooray!

So eloquently said. The ultimate gift from a partner who loved without limits.

Thinking of you and the boys. Had dinner last week with a friend that had a double lung transplant in August. He is 60 and doing amazing. It wasn’t easy, but many months later he can easily breath, walk, talk and work! There were a few setbacks and weird things, but the docs stayed on top of it. Also, thinking of Sunrise, and remembering all of her wonderful qualities. Take care!

Leave it to sunrise to make quick connections. I still cant believe she has passed. wishing you and the boys, fruitful healthy years in the future, that is her legacy.

Happily thinking of you and your sons. Remembering sunrise with thankfulness for her generous sharing. Wishing you all peace, comfort and love during this bittersweet time of sadness and joy.

Wishing sunriseeast’s H a full and speedy recovery, and thinking of him and their sons.
