So I’ve never taken an ACT test before and I’ve registered to take the test
on the 24th.
I need all the practice I can get in this short amount of time. I have taken
SATs but not done too well on them.
I was wondering if anyone can give me advice on how i should study for that act and what prep books i can get to do so.
Also, how is the act scored n ****? i know i culd just look this all up but i think its better if someone experienced tells me this. and is there a curve like there is on the sat??
and i heard u cant use a ti-89…do ppl actually get caught cuza that?

please don hesitate to give me some tips/advice!! anything wuld be helpful!!! :]

pleasee reply and help me out !!

The ACT is curved, although it greatly depends on the section. The four sections are all out of 36. Usually one-two wrong is a 35, three is a 34, etc but it depends on the test date and difficulty. Bring your TI-89. I would recommend studying by taking as many practice tests as possible and then zoning in on your weakest subject (ie if your lowest score is on reading, do reading drills). Some helpful books are the red official ACT book, and I find Princeton Review to be incredibly useful as well.

The Real Act and How To Increase Your Reading Score in Three Minutes per day are both great resources…practice diligently…practice daily…get the timinig down…you will be prepared and should score near the best of your ability. The ACT is easy to improve by 1-4 points (composite is an average of each of the four sections, without including the writing section which is scored but not included in the composite)…, contingent upon your practice regimen and your ceiling for cognitive ability.

Thanks!!
but r u sure bringin a ti-89 is okay? cuz it clearly says that they are not allowed…although i hear stories of ppl actualy brgin em and not gettin caught…is this true??
