I have a 19 year old college son. He’s home for Thanksgiving and it’s great. I am glad that this forum is here and that I found it tonight. Thanks for being there, CC.

Welcome to CC, and yes, you have found the best-informed and most supportive group of parents on the net. I hope you’ll stick around.

Glad to hear your son is home for the holiday! My daughter isn’t coming home this year, for the first time. It’s going to be weird. More turkey for me though! :D

Welcome to CC. At least you found the Parent Cafe where we discuss everything EXCEPT CC topics
BTW - DD is not home this year but I was on the phone with her the whole time she was doing her shopping for TDay dinner. Small group of friends who are working and can’t make it home are coming over. It was like she was here. She said she would most likely call today and tomorrow too. Her first big dinner
I think I’ll connect her to the Thanksgiving thread.

Welcome Mom2132Idaho! Have a great Thanksgiving w/your S. Mine is home, too, but just told me he’s going back to school on Friday. ![]()
I am grateful he’s home…

DD is in Cleveland with relatives, but DS will be here with us tomorrow. I’m missing them both! Welcome to CC!

welcome to CC! We are traveling to Pasadena to visit DC this year, as he is in the depths of studying for Finals and has no time to travel this year.

Welcome! I have loved this website and all of CC! It has been very helpful to me and fun. both D’s studying at college, H visiting family, I’m working - oh well- December will be our time together though.

Welcome. I have never given this site up, not after my son’s graduation, graduate school graduation, marriage and now job! Good, smart, kind folks. Welcome, you will get state of the art information.

Welcome Idaho, Been on CC for years. Once you start, it’s hard to quit. Both our S’s are here for Thanksgiving. This year’s holidays will be special. Next year S1 (U.S. Navy) will be deployed to the Middle East.

Welcome!
This site is addictive (in a good way) and I can’t seem to stop visiting either.
DS is now graduated undergrad and grad and working.

Still, an unbelievably wonderful group of frequent posters here that have helped me with so many non college related issues. Thoughtful and generous with their time and advice.
I’m sure you will experience the same.

Glad to hear there are other parents out there sticking around after the kids are launched. You really can get any question answered here and the ppl are smart and kind. The topics are wide ranging. Ok time to try to pry self off the 'puter and get that turkey into the oven. We have one home and one across the globe we’re hoping to skype with. Happy holiday, folks.

Welcome to CC. On this day of Thanksgiving, giving thanks for all old and new friends. DD came in Tuesday and we are catching because she has finals once she goes back to school.

Packmom, God bless your family and your son. We thank him for his service.

Son #3 who had said he wasn’t coming home this Thanksgiving walked in at 10 pm ! I was totally surprised ! My whole family knew he was coming ! Haven’t seen him since June , He is eight hours away . What a terrific treat ! Now I have 3 of 4 kids home . Eldest is 3000 miles away. If nothing else happens today , the day is already a great one . Happy Thanksgiving to all !

Wow, Fauxmaven, what a wonderful surprise. How sneaky of the fam to successfully hide it from you. Nothing like a completely surprise visit from someone you are missing and not anticipating seeing–pure heaven. Enjoy!

Welcome, Idaho. CC is filled with what I call “people like us.” More or less my age, with more or less kids like mine. I’ll never leave.

Awww fauxmaven, that made me smile! Enjoy the holiday!
