New TV shows

Just watched the Pilot. I was really impressed by it but it is Showtime. Love seeing Damian Lewis in a military drama outside of his work on Band of Brothers. I don’t know how many episodes this goes for but I feel like it could easily be a miniseries. It has some really twisty character and feels like something I’d like to continue with. One of my favorite moments was when he said he met the VP and didn’t know he was. It was so poignant.

I like New Girl mostly cause it comes before Raising Hope, which I really like. It has managed the almost impossible, which is to not lose its voice in the second season.

^ You are doing exactly what the network executives wanted you to do  Watching Raising Hope and stay on long enough for New Girl to catch you.

New Girl comes on before Raising Hope, so I am doing the other thing they want me to do – tuning in early and staying put.

^ Oops read too fast. It works the other way around too! I think that happened for me with numerous things. But it is true that most network executives hope people stay on when a show ends. They are looking for the Glee audience but caught someone watching Raising Hope.

My new TV shows are Revenge and New Girl. I liked 2 Broke Girls too. AHS was okay.
Admittedly, I haven’t seen any others cuz I don’t think I’d really like them. I’m gonna try to watch Person of Interest and Up All Night Later.

Another vote for Homeland – it’s my favorite new show by far. Clare Danes, Damian Lewis, Mandy Patinkin, and Morena Baccarin are all amazing. I can’t wait for the next episode.

2 Broke girls reminds me of that show with Paris Hilton and Nicole Riche ? Where they live on a farm , and are unable to do any useful chores . The problem with Pan Am is that it fails to give us all the subtle historical details of Mad Men . The pacing rushes through a situation that could be developed further . I imagine it will be cancelled soon !

Looking forward to Alcatraz…what network mdem?

@rodney: Alcatraz should be on FOX either midseason or winter. I don’t think there is release date set out yet. ([FOX Broadcasting Company - Programming](http://www.fox.com/alcatraz/318053/welcome-to-alcatraz?cmp=user_post)) Link to the trailer if anyone else wants to check it out.

Homeland definitely! I watched the pilot several times already, I can’t wait to see where this goes… and what a terrific cast!

Whitney - ugh! I can’t even stand the commercials. So let me guess the plot - moderately attractive skanky woman throws “I love sex” jokes around for a half hour. Excuse for wearing next to nothing and whining. She was never funny as a stand-up comedian, who in the world thought this would work?

The “Suburgatory” pilot was weak but Ana Gasteyer and Chris Parnell are worth waiting for. They should have a show.

None of the comedies can touch “Modern Family.”

Anyone see After the Runway? First episode came on right after Project Runway this past Thursday. Laura Bennett is a, how can I put this, b****. Even though I agree with her point about Josh, I dislike her manner i.e., she doesn’t have any . . . manners, that is.

Agree with Cartera45, but I am happy to have any comedy. For a few years the only comedy show we watched was How I Met Your Mother.

I always love Laura on Project Runway, and wish Josh would get spanked on a regular basis, so I howled with glee while watching the show. She doesn’t suffer fools, and, as the working mother of 6? I doubt she tolerates behavior like Josh in her house.

Okay, I really like Up All Night. Just realized what Person of Interest was about and ehh, IDK if I’m gonna watch it.

I feel like I need a drama in my life though because most of my favorite TV shows are comedies, like The Middle, Modern Family and Community.

Just tried to watch American Horror Story. Those poor actors. I couldnt watch the entire episode. Another new one bites the dust for me. I expect this one to be on the cancellation list soon.

Loved Grimm- something different- creepy with a touch of humor. Hope it can hold it’s own. Just saw Once Upon a Time. Interesting twist on fairy tales but not sure who their target audience is. Seems a bit gruesome at time for kids but not sure if there is enough substance to maintain adults. Still, I liked it and will give it a try.

I like Suburgatory. I also liked the Playboy Club because it was really different. I like New Girl. Most of the time I actually find myself waiting to see if a show doesn’t get cancelled before I tune into it. The last couple of years every time I liked a show it got cancelled so now I wait.

I added Grimm and Once Upon a Time to the tiVo and removed Up All Night. It wasn’t actually bad, but I had 3 episodes just sitting there, and I didn’t care to finish. 2 Broke Girls is now very high on the list, and Suburgatory gets watched in the same night as well.
