no need for financial aid at any school
i am a lead trumpet player and soloist in one of the top 7 best highschool jazz bands in the country. this band competes at essentially ellington (placed in the top 5 last year), savannah this year etc.
I volunteer at a free clinic and have a few hundred hours of community service from it
i am planning to volunteer this summer at my dad’s emergency room
i started a small charity to give instruments to underprivileged children
I am captain of my highschool swim team (barely good enough to swim at d3 school lol)
lifeguard during the summer
3.67 weighted, 3.46 uw
unfortunately, i had a bad Sophomore year (3.4 weighted both semesters) and an improved junior year (3.8 1st semester and 4.0 weighted second semester) (a’s both semesters in ap us, but b’s in spanish and a b 1st semester in regular english)
my school has a 10 (out of 10) API score
sat-600 cr, 610 math, 610 w (2nd attempt, i have 3 more)</p>

<p>i am a good enough trumpet player to major in jazz at many non conservatory schools, but i do not want it to be my profession. Should i apply to my reach schools as a music major and then switch majors?</p>
