new versions of common app-discouraged?

I am thinking making a different version of the common app, just to correct a few mistakes.
But I am quite scared how the common app website discourages it…
And my friend said that for the colleges that will be receiving the different version of common app, a message that the applications is not the original version will appear…
Is this true?
I hope it doesn’t affect my admissions…</p>
