Andy Chalk in pcgamer.com:
You might think that “Make America Nazi-Free Again,” backed by the “NoMoreNazis” hashtag, would be a fairly uncontroversial position to take, especially for a game like Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus. Nazis, after all, are the Universal Bad Guys, and whether it’s at home, or far, far away, kicking their asses is always a good idea. Yet somehow, not everyone saw it that way.

James Batchelor in gamesindustry.biz:
[Pete Hines, VP for PR and marketing at Bethesda says] “Wolfenstein has been a decidedly anti-Nazi series since the first release more than 20 years ago. We aren’t going to shy away from what the game is about. We don’t feel it’s a reach for us to say Nazis are bad and un-American, and we’re not worried about being on the right side of history here.”
As Hines says, Wolfenstein games have always centred around a man helping to save the world from Nazi oppression. The upcoming Wolfenstein II, which launches at the end of the month, continues the alternate history story of 2014 outing The New Order and moves the action to a Nazi-occupied America.
The new game is Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus , a sequel to a long line of games dating back to 1981 (see [Wolfenstein - Wikipedia ](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wolfenstein_(series)) ). It is scheduled to release on October 27.
Video gaming is getting controversial in ways other than its traditional controversies.
“Make America Nazi-free again” is a pretty obvious passive aggressive jab at Trump voters. It’s even more ridiculous how the media is spinning the situation around by suggesting that anyone who finds the slogan offensive must be a Nazi sympathizer… absolutely crazy.
Nazis are bad. Nazis should be mocked, shunned, and the bad guys in games if they must appear at all.
My roommate went to go buy the game to support them… but it’s $60. So we’re supporting from afar…
Much ado about nothing… Way to draw attention to a game that only a few of us knew about (know the name because I know the folks who played the earlier versions…)
Why would it be a jab at those Trump voters who would enthusiastically want to make America Nazi-free again?
Because you know very well that’s not what they were going for with that slogan
Kind of like we know where folks are going with All Lives Matter?
If anyone takes millions and millions of people who are anti-Nazi as being anti-them, perhaps they should reevaluate some of their beliefs and actions
