<p>Dean Southern will be returning to CIM this coming fall. He was on faculty there before departing,unexpectedly, for Frost, where he has been on faculty for the past four years. His return makes the CIM faculty as follows: 1 woman and 3 men. It remains to be seen as to whether or not this will be an option that is attractive to potential students, the overwhelming number of whom are female. Oddly, CIM advertised the opening as being for a Bass/Baritone from the start.
As I’ve said before, you can ask all the right questions of a school and a potential teacher, but you just never know for certain how those 4 years will play out.</p>
<p>DD did a trial lesson with Dean when she auditioned in Miami…really liked him and would have liked to study with him…didn’t end up at Miami cause it just wasn’t the right fit for her…</p>
