New X factor

I must have nothing else to do in the evenings, so I continue to sit through the auditions. Agree that they are moving excruciatingly slowly. Am getting tired of the people they put on the show that are terrible, it’s so staged.

Am getting tired of them saying they are seeing the next star, etc.

I did like the guy with the tattooed head, but realize I love his voice, but probably could not stand to look at him for long periods of time. Am frustrated that they are still allowing children (13 years old) to be on the show after the Rachel Crow meltdown last year.

On another note, America’s Got Talent was pretty funny to see the dogs win. They were admittedly very cute, but the comedian probably would actually engage people in Vegas.

I only watch on youtube, but there was a 13 yo girl who was extraordinarily good. She’s been in Broadway musicals since she was 7 and has obviously had a lot of coaching, but I thought her audition was spectacular. She was so poised and in control on the stage. Much more so than any of the other contestants I watched. Unlikely she’d have a meltdown.

I finally was able to catch up with X-Factor. For the teens, for me, Carly Rose Sonenclar is the front-runner with Beatrice Miller nipping at her heels. Reed is cute like a little Bieber.

For the over 25, I like everyone except for Tara but Vino seems to have the edge.

Cece Frey is the one I really like in the Young Adults group. Jennel too if she eases up on the hairography. Jillian is the one I think who shared her bullying story during her first audition. Reminded me of 2 Broke Girls last night. The 2 girls were auditioning for Cupcake Wars but they got rattled and eventually lost when their competitor had a better sob story (lost business in Hurricane Katrina) than them.

For the groups, it would have to be the groups that were formed from the “rejects” in the Teen and Young Adults category. Lyric Da Queen and One4Five reminded me of The Black Eyed Peas while they sang Party in the USA. The five-girl group sang an awesome rendition of Shontelle’s Impossible. Did I see a tear in Marc Anthony’s eye? The fourth girl who sang with the ribbon on her hair, I think her name is Camilla Cabello, had a beautiful tone. Simon has to change Camilla’s and Lauren’s (?) hairstyle or hair color because they look alike. Maybe, some highlights or ombre hair.

Was anyone else watching and all of a sudden The Mindy Project is broadcasting instead??? The guide clearly says X-factor ends at 10pm, then local news.

Edit: evidentially a baseball game went over and pushed back everything, messing up all the scheduling. There was a message at the bottom of the screen saying X-F would air again Tuesday night. Way to drag it out another week.

What a mess the Fox channel was last night! If they had only started the X Factor at 8 like it was supposed to, it would have been finished by 10 when the baseball game resumed. Instead we got start and stop with bizarre partial shows mixed in. Simon must be furious.

So last night here on the West Coast they had a special hour episode from 9:30-10:30pm and they showed the selection of the groups and another group (the one that Demi Lovato has).

When did they pick the finalists in the other 2 groups? With the playoffs and World Series, it’s all discombobulated!

I’m sorry…Khloe Kardashian Odom is a host? I may not be able to watch. I would mention that the girl needs to put a bra on underneath that unnecessarily low cut blouse, but that’s just standard for that family. I don’t want to know the temperature in the studio when I look at your blouse. It’s just all wrong and will be all season.

Remember, Khloe WAS born in a barn with the door open. With someone outside charging for photography opportunities. Blech.

I like Carly Rose, in the “youngster” category (cannot remember the actual name) and second Krlilies liking of CeeCee. I’m kind of thinking (and hoping!) that CeeCee loses those god awful leopard tracks on her face when she eventually peels away some of her phony facade. I think the producers wanted to initially create this unlikeable person, and that fans of XF will eventually end up liking her.

I just realized that Khloe is one of the new hosts!

I thought the host last year, Steve, was awful. I think this format will be even worse! So far the hosts are reading everything and it looks and sounds like an awards show!

Is it so hard to find a host like Ryan Seacrest or Kat? They know how to actually improvise and relate to the audience and contestants.

The leopard tracks have been gone for a while. Unfortunately, the “mentors” are at it again, and the poor girl is being transformed into a trashy Christina Aguilera look with ridiculous hair color.

In general, the show has taken all the bad parts of last year with massive over-production and moronic transformations of the candidates. The big difference is that this year is really, really short on talent and personalities. The only exceptions might be among the younger singers. Half of them --if not more-- would not have made it to the live sessions of last year.

I agree, massive overproduction.

I was furious when the tatted guy (the one with the tattooed head) came out. I loved his voice from the beginning and the took it and ruined it with the horrific song and production. They completely eliminated any personality and distinctive voice that he had. The only one that I liked was the cowboy that sang without any backup.

This may be it for the X Factor for me. Last year I said I would give it another year and I’m not sure I can stick it out until the bitter end.

I totally agree about Cee Cee. I was so glad to see the leopard spots gone. Next thing we know she’s got horrible looking peroxide blonde hair with clownish makeup. It doesn’t look hip or relevant, it looks cheap and desperate, which she shouldn’t. She can actually sing. I was so disappointed her mentor either agreed to that or put that together for her. Her vocals were totally lost in the entire thing.

Saw this thread and thought I’d have a peek - imagine my surprise to discover I started the thread! I had completely forgotten - gave up on the show in week 2 - doesn’t sound like I am missing much. The news that Khloe kardasion (sp) is a host makes me glad I am not watching. I enjoyed last year’s show, though many of the numbers were very overproduced, and thought several of the performers were quite talented. Still waiting for that Josh Krajcik album. Hope I won’t be too disappointed, but my expectations are kinda high.

Haven’t seen the latest shows this week but having Khloe K. as a guest on the show is really scraping the bottom of the desperation barrel, imo. Who’s next… Amarosa?

Her fiancee, Michael Clarke Duncan, just died a couple of months ago.
