guys what do our housing portals look like rn. does it still say no apps available
tbh i donāt think itās a sign bc I wasnāt able to send an email to my nyu one this morning but I was able to when I just tried like 20 mins agoā¦so maybe everyone can, itās just populating at different times?
are you intl??
or did you apply for fin aid?
wbu monica? intl right?
yes
im domestic
bcs we know arya is intl and they can send email
oh nvm bro
MAYBE they didnāt activate stern ones yetā¦
isnāt stern later than others?
no iām domestic and full pay
u wanna try sending email to ur NYU account again? someone just said they could send it now but wasnt able to earlier
yeah Iāll try again, its just netid@nyu.edu right?
yep
me too, Iām trying to send again rn
yall but hereās what GPT saysā¦so i donāt think itās a bad sign either way:
Stern/NYU email behavior doesnāt mean anything for admissions.
NYU creates directory entries for all applicants, but NOT real mailboxes.
-
If you can āsendā to @stern.nyu.edu ā itās just an alias in the system, not a real inbox.
-
If Microsoft asks for Multifactor Authentication (code) ā thatās just Azure seeing a user object, even if the mailbox doesnāt exist.
-
If it doesnāt ask for MFA ā your account just doesnāt have that policy attached yet.
Different people hit different back-end states, but NONE of them are connected to being accepted or rejected.
I agree
but that still doesnāt explain why some people can send to nyu email and some canāt. that only explains that everyone can send to stern emails
bounced back againā¦
on a side note on dec 4 my stern email got delayed and so I canceled it but today it let me send (ik it is letting everyone send) but that obvi just means updates happened
Itās possible that no oneās email goes through but some people just think it did if they never got an email back saying it didnāt go throu
GPT basically explained it like:
NYU sometimes activates mailboxes before they import admissions decisions, especially for:
-
international document processing
-
financial aid matching
-
identity verification workflows
A āno bounceā @nyu.edu just means the system created your mailbox early ā NYU does this in random provisioning batches for applicants, admitted or not. The only real sign is being able to actually log into the inbox and receive mail.
I mean they people who got theirs sent are saying they never got a bounce back or delivery fail email.
So idkā¦
If it didnāt send for you though there is a chance they are being slow and just havenāt loaded in all of the admitted student accounts yet.
