New York University Early Decision Class of 2030 Official Thread

what school

I think considering my school’s history of how at least half of the applicants to nyu ed1 get in, I am somewhat confident that I will get accepted since my act score is really high. but considering how my cumulative gpa is lower due to extenuating circumstances, I am not sure what can happen. praying for an acceptance of course, but realistically, I think its between acceptance or waitlist/defferal.

if you write in your additional comments you should by fine. They don’t hate all bad grades.

CAS……… it’s not computer science though I know it’s more competitive for computer science

ngl i heard some guy on tiktok saying CAS and Stern are same acceptance rate, which is why i changed to stern. but ngl ive also seen people saying nyu is just random for acceptances, so u definitely have a chance. if ur essays are rlly good then itll increase as well

def not bro…

i think as long as your essays carry, you got this!

cas is 4-7%, stern is around the same.

Funnily enough I switched from stern to cas for reasons but let’s hope my essay was shakespeares level to nyu lol

tbh I don’t think a top 3 buisness college and a art history major will have the same rate… Espically in the ed phase

just search it up. idk thats what i saw

Yeah I’ve heard CAS and stern ahve same acceptance

It probably depends on the major like anything on the artistic side of cas might have a higher acceptance rate, but computer science is the most competitive one in there def

no, and even if the acceptance rates were comparable, the students applying usually have different sat/gpa/ec demographic

i mean they are comparable

applying to stern would haunt me. Even with my pretty good ec’s imo i feel like i woud be a instant reject

what are ur ecs?

Yeah that’s exactly what I did, I also had my counselor write it in her LOR as additional context. In summary, I basically had really bad hearing issues, like to the point it was very difficult to hear in class. So a lot of my 9-10 grades that were based heavily on in-class instruction like math, chem, spanish, etc, lagged behind because I didn’t to hear lessons as good as everyone else. I thought I explained it pretty well but we’ll see tmrw.

I have a 3.75uw 4.446 weighted GPA and applied test-optional. My main extracurriculars include Eagle Scout, Co-President of my schools Finance Club, Vice President of Management for an Investing Club, DECA executive officer with ICDC qualification plus very good state placement, Cloud Engineer Intern at a local tech company, I interned for PSA (Its the pokemon/card grading company, pretty big company imo) as an Automation Intern, and founder of a community service project building custom dog stools for an animal rescue organization (led a 10 man team). I also led a major charity fundraiser through a dance organization where i was able to raise $50,000. I also put like ap scholar but that some bs lmao. also varisty football and tennis. I applied econ first major and art history second
