I am looking for parking suggestions for Newark Airport. My girls are flying out of Newark tomorrow and will return on Sunday leaving a vehicle. Anyone have any recommendations?

We always park at Airpark. Never a problem. They drive you to the terminal and pick you up and bring you back to the parking lot when you return.

Thank you! I want to reserve the parking tonight. Is it easy to find?
They will be coming down from NYS, on the Garden State parkway.

Just park at the EWR long term parking with the tram service. It’s around 20 per day and it’s indoor. There is no need for reservation and just follow the sign.

They won’t get to the airport until about 1 pm. I was worried the lot would be full. No?
The parking is more but it sounds simpler and closer to the terminal.
I am a little nervous because it’s an 18 and 20 year old and I won’t be there to be in control (lol). They may be running a tad bit late by airport standards but they aren’t checking baggage.

We used this one a few weeks ago: FastTrack - Newark Economy Self Park
472 Route 1 & 9 South,Newark, NJ 07114, Phone: (973) 648-6868 I think it was $14 a day, but it might have been less. We had made a reservation and a valet got the car right away and a van was ready to take us to the airport. Getting back was pretty easy and car was waiting for us, pulled up when we returned. The only downside was that we had to pre-pay $14 when we made the reservation and had to remember to bring the confirmation paper, otherwise it said they would not honor the deposit. It’s always so much more to park on-site.

Also, avistar…[Airport Parking - AviStar/FastTrack](http://www.avistarparking.com/fasttrack?gclid=CPbNusrEupoCFQKaFQodq0PtbQ)

and continuous shuttle to terminals…

If you go on Newark airport website, there is a map of all the parking areas. I parked there once – hub told me to park in the closest possible lot (Newark, not great area). I did & it was a short, well-lighted walk to the terminal. Really not a fan of taking those trams, in the dark, esp if there aren’t lots of people around…

I have not tried the offsite parking, but a lot of locals recommend it. I do not like the long term parking at the airport - it is far away, and the shuttles can be unreliable, although in the middle of the afternoon it is probably better than when I have been there (very early and very late.)

I have done the long term lots at Nwk several times. They can be a long distance away. The furthest one takes you all the way to Elizabeth, back through Newark and maybe back to Elizabeth if you are going to Terminal A. I have never had a problem with the shuttles, but generally get into the airport in the evenings. My H always uses one of the hotels lots on Rt 1 that offer airport parking.

We use Avistar and have been very pleased. They usually have a coupon online.

I think you mean the Turnpike, not the GS Pkwy.

The long term parking I am referring to has tram service. One stop from terminal c. If they should run late , they could do valet for a little bit more money. I have used it late or early, always got a spot. Most people want to pay 14, but this lot is more expensive. I like it in the winter because it’s indoor.

JustAMom,
I’m late to this “party,” but wanted to echo that either AirPark or FastTrack (offsite) would be fine, I’m sure. We have used both at JFK and LGA, and they are both quite efficient and will shuttle the girls to the terminal within minutes of their arrival at the parking facility.
And I know what you mean about the control…;)

I know I am a bit late, but I also highly recommend Avistar. They are open 24 hours a day, and have shuttle service from their off-site location every 10-15 minutes all day and night. My car has always been safe and sound upon my return. The price is about half of what you would pay in long-term parking at the airport.

Thank you everybody!
Fortunately both their flights are in the afternoon so they won’t be dealing with the airport in the dark - whew!
They both have flying and airport experience but Newark is a new one for them. Now if I can just control the weather and keep the rain and thunder away…

Daily Parking Lots P1/P3, for terminal A or B and the P4 for terminal c(Continental Airlines mostly) Parking Garage located on airport are:
$3 for the first half hour or part thereof
$6 for up to 1 hour
$3 for each hour or part thereafter up to a $24 maximum for a 24-hour period
Use the AirTrain system to get to your terminal, it’s free!

We live about an hour from Philadelphia and about an hour and twenty minutes from EWR, but we’ve found that we really need to allow 20 minutes more for parking at EWR because it just takes a bit more time to get to the airport. I don’t know what it is, but even the close-by off-site spots are not that close.

Please be aware; the ‘Long Term’ parking lots at Newark Airport are at more than 2 miles from the terminals. That’s right!!! And, unless things have changed dramatically since I last used EWR in early 2008, the LT lots are often closed because they are full. In those instances they give you a placard that allows parking in the hourly lots at LT rates, but even there I had to wait several minutes for an open space.

We live in northern NJ and fly out of Newark. We generally park at P4 which has covered parking and then take the Air Train to the terminal. However, parking is not cheap (DH’s business pays for it). If all P4 levels are filled, Valet parking is adjacent – but that is even more expensive. Air Trains run infrequently in the very very early morning hours (before 7 AM) and occasionally they’ve been stopped due to police activity so we walked. If you use any of the off site parking services, leave yourself plenty of time.
