Here is some background which should answer your question:

http://college.tulane.edu/corecurriculum.htm

Excerpt: Newcomb-Tulane College. Beginning in 2006, Newcomb-Tulane College has administrative oversight for the full-time undergraduate experience and the common core curriculum. Newcomb-Tulane College comprises all undergraduate programs at the university, including those in architecture, business, liberal arts, public health and tropical medicine, and science and engineering. All prospective undergraduate students apply to Newcomb-Tulane College for admission. A student designates a school either upon admission or by the end of spring semester of the first year and designates a major either upon admission or no later than the beginning of a student’s fourth semester. After the selection of a major, the student continues to be a Newcomb-Tulane College student as well as a student in the chosen school, in which the major resides. Students who remain undecided as to their schools or majors will stay within the college. Ultimately, students simultaneously will be in Newcomb-Tulane College and a school. For example, a student who majors in biology is in the School of Science and Engineering and Newcomb-Tulane College. [goes on to describe the Core Curriculum]

Students are in colleges, faculty are in schools, and God is in Gibson Hall (or the Banana Mansion). There is only one undergraduate college (for now) - Newcomb-Tulane.

Newcomb-Tulane advisors are responsible for seeing that you complete university-wide distribution requirements and community service requirements and theoretically have the expertise to advise you on anything from soup to nuts.

oh~~~~~~that’s how it works, thanks you guys.
