I’m a high school senior from Ohio.
My mother and I will be driving down to New York this Sunday for an interview.
Syracuse is my first choice.

My test scores and grades are some what average (3.4) (ACT: 24). However, I feel my advantage is my resume. I started my own videography firm three years ago which has grown to include Advertising, Web Design and Graphic (print) Design. Also, the state wide television show I work as editor on received an Emmy award last year.

My letter is ship shape, my resume is polished and my grades are as good as they can be.

I want to make sure this interview is perfect.

What types of questions do they ask for admission into the Newhouse Advertising school?

Please leave your answers as soon as possible.

Be yourself. There is no way to cheat the interview process. The questions change depending on who interviews you from admissions @ Newhouse, what you say and how you present yourself.

If you don’t get into the program of your choice, the Visual and Performing Arts school also has some very good programs that serve as alternatives to Newhouse. Good luck@

i had my interview last month, and i was accepted to newhouse. the woman was very sweet and my nerves subsided as soon as we started chatting. she asked me the standard “why syracuse?” and i had a good response prepared because thats obviously going to come up. but she also asked some things that caught me off guard like: “if you could be on any tv show what would it be and why” and “if you could meet any 3 people in history alive or dead who would they be and why”. it required a lot of hardcore thinking in a short amount of time. also talk up any community service you can, they like to know that you’ll be a part of the Scholarship in Action concept.

as long as you seem sincere, make eye contact, have a firm handshake, and answer honestly you should be ok :)
