<p>So what’s wrong with this picture?
No Calif. school in the top 10 or top 25 … Lowell made #26
So few Calif. schools in the top 200
So many UC’s in the top 10 national public universities.</p>

<p>I shouldn’t complain. My school is ranked #1 now in the SF bay area
(excluding Lowell in SF, of course) and I’m going to UCLA!</p>

<p>I couldn’t agree more. I’m from Baltimore, and even I know that TJ is an excellent school. Just more proof that this ranking is absolute crap.</p>

<p>And speaking of Baltimore schools, this list is severely lacking. Nothing against City College—I know it’s a good school—but there are better schools in the area that are absent from the list (Western, Poly, Pikesville, etc.). Even more proof that these rankings are bogus.</p>

<p>I still think that these rankings are a bit messed up in terms of how they rank these schools in general.</p>

<p>I think the ranking is a more generalized way to rank it. But it’s pretty good. I was looking for TJ too on it.</p>

<p>Rankings are ridiculous, but if they make you feel any better, go for it. There are plenty of excellent schools out there that didn’t “make the cut”.</p>

<p>Because they score too high on the SATs…which IMO makes an already ridiculous list even dumber. :p</p>

<p>TJ’s description was weak. Considering Newsweek’s focus on APs, they should’ve mentioned that, for schools with more than 1000 students, TJ is the top performing school in the world on six AP exams (Calc BC, Chemistry, French Lang, French Lit, US Gov, and U.S. History). :D</p>

<p>Wow…What’ with all the Lowell students? I agree with Golden Bear…considering other schools in the top 100…many schools are in fact small (in population)…so the whole distribution is funky…</p>
