"Next Generation" of College Confidential Here Already? (FALL 2010 Transfers)

Both are probably on the same plane, but I hear Berkeley profs hate physical anthro.

Berkeley rankings-wise for it’s graduate school.
They also have a MS in medical anthropology if that’s your thaang (UCLA doesn’t).

But I think the rankings are minimal enough to choose based on school aesthetics, price, and location.

dang dude, i don’t know what i’m gonna do if i get into both for Anthro.! Tough decision ahead (hopefully). Part of me wants to stay home and save money while attending ucla (dream school), yet part of me wants to venture north, and experience something different than Southern California, and its Berkeley, BERK-E-LEY.

erikuh!

I know what you’re saying about being a bum in CC. It’s especially tough since I live so far from SMC! :/. It’s weird, because in high school I was pretty much your All-American kid (3-time all league basketball/track, school musicals, toy drive founder, prom king, blah), but now I feel as if I’m not doing anything. I hope an internship this summer and some other stuff will help me out. That’s probably the thing I’m worried most about on my application so far, EC’s.

How do you guys think the UC’s verify extra curricular activities such as club membership, volunteer hours, etc.?? Sorry, I’m new.

^ They pick a couple random kids to ask to verify (small percentage) and those with far fetched ECs or those that seem out of place.

Even though the chance is small, it’s best to be at truthful as possible on your app…ESPECIALLY with past schools you’ve attended.

You can embellish your application though…
Bought balloons and food for end of the year banquet -> Helped plan and coordinate end of the year banquet.
Or something along those lines.

n0000000bs!

Psh! Noobs. Please. Some of us have been here for months. We’re the future veterans. haha.

@Erika- a new Anthro major! Wee!

@jbustos- Erika and I are both Anthro majors. I talked to the undergrad academic advisor for Anthro at Berkeley and she said it is tops in the nation, just under the lead Ivy’s, which doesn’t surprise me. I don’t know, we’ll see what happens.

What are your stats Jbustos?

^ 3.4 no tap.

uh stalker status? YES.

I shall update you, Evan, with my GPA after finals are dunzo in 2 weeks.
As of now I have a bunch of A’s in most/all my classes…but given my lack of attendance (<60-75%ish) you think anyone would be ******-y enough to drop my grades to B’s despite my actual grades?

Do(es) you/we/anyone know the average GPA for Anthro majors at Berkeley? That statfinder thing didn’t give me too much insight.

I can’t sleep right now- Soooo… I thought I’d post the sweaters I intend to buy upon submitting my SIR to (hopefully UCB, UCLA, or UCSD)

I REALLY like these sweaters:

For Berkeley
[Basic 5540708G Hooded Sweatshirt Champion:eFollett.com](<a href=“Official Online Store”>Official Online Store)

For UCLA
[UCLA Leaning Joe Full Zip Hooded Sweatshirt - Sweatshirts - Apparel - UCLA Store/url

For UCSD
[url=<a href=“UC San Diego Bookstore”>UC San Diego Bookstore]UCSD Bookstore: Gifts and Clothing - Sweatshirts](http://shop.uclastore.com/product/ucla+apparel/sweatshirts/ucla+leaning+joe+full+zip+hooded+sweatshirt.do#)
On the right column, the 4th down (fusion zip hoodie)

:)

Lol why even bother thinking about the UCSD one? You’ll get into UCLA.
If you guys actually think about it, getting into UCSD,UCD,UCI,etc. is pretty damn easy. Signing the TAG requires…what? 3.0 for Davis/Irvine/SB and 3.2 for UCSD? I don’t see how people end up at Merced/SC/Riverside as a transfer…

debbie downer!

who has taken oral comm?

OMG! I’m in class and my teacher just announced that SMC is trying to cut winter session entirely!

Wahhh!~

Everyone should migrate south for the winter (classes for all!)

No, but seriously.

oh, yeah. UCSD. I don’t know. It’s okay. I don’t know. I have a TAG already, most likely WONT go there.

Wow…If they cancel winter session at SMC then I would probably have to go to El Camino (I heard it was easier too).

@ theregoesevan

Hehe, totally just counseled my old roommate from NY who wants to transfers schools as well.

She loves nature, liberalism, english, and celebrating 420.
Tell me UCSC is not the perfect match?!

Evan, the Cal Bear and Cal cursive logo sadly $h!ts on the Joe Bruin and UCLA logo.
My friend got this sick shirt FOR FREE that he wore today from his informational admitted students thingy that he went to this past weekend.
