Next Semester

Hi, I just completed my freshman year at a university which I did not like. I managed to get good grades, but my only motivation was to get into a better school. Anyway, near the end of this school year I realized that I really do not want to go back whatsoever, as I do not want to pay 50k+ on a school which i do not enjoy. I am kind of late on the transfer process, and a lot of the schools I’m looking to get into only accept fall semester transfers, which I did not realize. Regardless I am going to transfer after next semester to another university while I see what happens with my applications to my reach schools. It seems like I need at least another semester before i can get into most of these schools.

So my question is, would it look bad on my applications if for a semester I took online classes or night classes at a significantly lower ranking school nearby? I would also likely be working as a political campaign coordinator, so it will put some money and work experience under my belt.

The uncertainty around this process of transferring has been a source of anxiety, any help would be appreciated.

It would not look bad to take online and or night classes at a lower ranked university. I would definitely focus more on just doing really well in those classes. However, I would also make sure that these classes are transferrable to your intended school(s).
