When do schools release the cost of attendance for next year? Like 2018-2019. Is there a general time frame?
Every college is different. Some have released their 2018-2019 COA already. Others won’t do so until the summer.
And any time between now and when bills are sent is when this can happen.
Schools have to wait until their boards approve the tuition & fees, so it is often late spring or even into summer before they can announce the new rates. You can look up historic rate increases to try to guess what the increase will be for the new year.
The first year, my daughter’s school was still changing tuition, room and board on July 1 and the payment was due on Aug 11. Silly me thought they’d send a bill but they don’t. It’s on line and you have to sign in and pay. Except they kept changing it, sometimes more, sometimes less. It was very difficult to figure out.
Other school posts it but tuition is by credit, so if D adds or drops a class, it goes up and down but it isn’t due until 3 weeks after school starts This year she made a lot of changes and somehow a drop happened one day and an add the next, but they issued a refund for the drop so I had to wait about a week and repay that same amount.
