NFL Training Camps

I was reading that the Philadelphia Eagles have begun assembling for their training camp at Lehigh University. The New York Giants will soon begin arriving at SUNY Albany for theirs, and I think the Jets still hold their summer training camp at Hofstra University.

This got me to wondering where the other NFL teams hold their summer camps. Are they all on college or university campuses, and if so, where?
I’m also curious if any CCers have had any interesting or unusual encounters with the NFLcrowd while they were residing at your school.

Steelers are at St. Vincent College in Latrobe, PA. I don’t think there are many students there over the summer.

When i lived in Cleveland the Browns had camp at Balwin-Wallace College, not sure if they still do.

The St. Louis Rams are headed up to Concordia University- Wisconsin which I believe is right outside of Milwaulke. They were at Western Illinois University in Macomb, IL for awhile while my sister worked there and then the last three years they’ve stayed in St. Louis at their practice complex.

It’s nice for them to get away, but man I can’t believe the expense they go through to do so. Their training facility is NICE.

The Green Bay Packers have used St Norberts College in De Pere (a suburb of GB) forever- the new guys get to be at the historic place they may end up in and the returnees are close to, but separate from their GB homes. They change the beds to extra big ones and cater special meals for giant appetites. Da Bears went to a UW college, not sure if they still do. Concordia is in the Milwaukee area. The city doesn’t matter as they are at the campus to keep them away from distractions (it also provides a place to stay for those who won’t make the team and therefore don’t want to sign any leases or spend money on hotels). Most campuses are basically empty during the training camp time. The Packers have the advantage of using their own training facilities. There is always quite a bit of hoopla around the training camp (and everything football in GB- the news media has coverage 365 days/52 weeks a year), the locals and many out of town fans sit in bleachers outside the training field fence to watch open practices and kids have offered their bikes to players to ride from the field to the locker room building for generations. Professional football is big business, with many multimillionaire owners.

The Cincinnati Bengals hold their training camp down at Georgetown College in Georgetown, KY (about an hour from Cincy). For most of their existence they held it at Wilmington College in Wilminton, OH.

The Miami Dolphins training camp is located at Nova Southeastern University in Davie, FL, just west of Ft. Lauderdale.

The Carolina Panthers hold their training camp at Wofford College in Spartanburg ,SC

The T.C. Williams Titans have their training camp at Gettysburg College.

The Ravens hold camp at McDaniel College, but the players stay at a local hotel. There are a few summer classes but the team is gone before students arrive for Fall semester. The town of Westminster really benefits from the team and the people who to come to watch practices and spend some money in the little town.
