how is nightlife in the city? is columbia in close proximity to bars/clubs? are there parties?

Do you really have to ask what nightlife is like in NYC?

There are bars on pretty much every block of NYC.

No, it’s not in “close proximity” to the clubs. 20-25 minute subway ride to them.

Yes.

It’s NYC . . . obviously its going to have a great nightlife.

depends on your definition of club.

Nontraditional males may find that Suite on 109th & Amsterdam is right up their… alley.

Evelyn’s Lounge on 79th & Columbus is quite a hopping place on weekends.

There is dancing to be had outside the meatpacking district, and you don’t even have to clear a long line to get in :P

Hah, I’ve never before seen such a use of “nontraditional.” Is this a new name of an old place; I remember something around there having a different name.

Yo Denz I KNOW you had a good time at Suite the one time you were blackmailed into going in there :)

But yes–NYC nightlife is terrific. But it’s also one of those cities where all bars/clubs/whatever don’t close before 4AM whereas cities like London and Mumbai tend to shut down at 1AM.

NYC spoiled me.

Blackmailed? I was backing up my bro! He needed a wingman, he chose the girls we picked up, and he decided it would be a good idea to go to that gay bar. I just went along with it.

Just cause two guys asked for my number doesn’t mean I caught the Ghey. :)

So true. I was in Dublin earlier this year, and despite that the town has the biggest population of drunks ever plus tons of crazies from the continent coming in for the weekend for stag/hen parties etc., I was baffled at the last call drill so early into the night.

^^I know, right?

I was on spring break to London (yeah yeah, rain, no beaches) with a bunch of CU friends and we hit the bars at 11PM except um…there were none open bc everyone was at nightclubs. It’s such a clubby culture outside of New York.
