NJ 'Sandy' clean-up - anyone else want to volunteer?

I posted some of this in the ‘Frankenstorm’ thread, but was planning to volunteer to work next weekend at the shore (Wednesday-Sunday; Thanksgiving is not my ‘big’ holiday, so I’m happy to work through it) . There is so much to do.

How about a CC work crew? I’m partial to Monmouth County, as that’s where we have a beach house, and have heard Keansburg & Union Beach are desperate for volunteers.

Jersey Cares is a well-established organization that is helping coordinate volunteers:

Hi nj2011mom…we are as a family involved in our community. I have become a liaison fro an elderly woman who lives alone…her home was severely flooded and damaged. I have set her up with temp housing, taken her to FEMA, and been her contact number for Samaritan’s Purse ( an organization of volunteers who remove damages floors, walls, furniture and appliances to pave the way for repairs ) Also I drove to Mass over the weekend to pick up donations from friends and family who wanted to help. We are as a family making and serving food to those who have nowhere to go this Thanksgiving. So many displaced families .
If I have time, I am going to make some cookies and bring them to the local FEMA in the county. All of them are far away from their families as well during this time. And also , adjusters from all over the country …I applaud your effort and hope you get some joiners.
Luckily , my daughter is home to help and we will still be bale to have our own dinner too
