NMC one time scholarship/changing first choice

I know this is discussed sort of ongoing, I just want to add another question :-).

S will be NMF. I know notifications are coming soon. When he was selected NMSF, he declared a school as his first choice that offers NM $. This school may or may not be his real first choice.

If he chooses to attend another school with no NM $, we don't want him to lose out on the possibility of the $2500 one time for NMC. Should we urgently change to "undecided" for first choice before NMF notifications are received? Any idea of the timing of when they decide who/if to give the one time money to?

I do not have anything to fax/mail/email to NMC, so please let me know what information they need and the number to fax it to.

Thanks.

Here's their contact information. Why don't you call and ask them directly? They've been very helpful when I've called them in the past. Best of luck to your son!

Anyone heard about their finalist standing yet, or are the letters just being mailed to schools this week?

If the school that is offering the big NMF scholarship doesn't require your son to name them before May 1st, then change to undecided.

The form is on the NMCorp website....fill it out and fax it in.

Thanks both for the info.

NMC says it does not matter which, if any, schools you have on your "first choice" in regards to receiving the $2500 one time award. The committee has already met for those and they have been determined.

Which school you have only matters in regards to the official offer you receive. She mentioned to pay attention to page 3 of the rules, in regards to deadlines, etc.
