NMF Results WITH STATS

Sooo0000 there goes my chance at National Achievement. sigh
Especially considering that D+ in Spanish freshman year. I just thought it was just based off of GPA and SAT and essay. I have a 3.72 even with that D+. A student could have straight Bs and have a 3.0 with no Cs and still get NMF, that makes no sense what so ever.

National achievement is run by a different program with different standards than national merit, you may still have a shot.

It has different standards for the PSAT cuttoffs but it is still run by national merit so I’m assuming it has the same grade standards. In addition if you look at the numbers of SF to F 93% of NMSF become F but only 76% of NASF become NAF which directly correlates to the grade difference between AA and white students. Granted it is a smaller sample size but the difference is still there.

Unless they only look at core courses then I might have a shot. (Two trimesters with Cs and one with a D+ in Spanish 1 no others)

Maybe I should drop down from Spanish Four to Spanish One next year to replace the grade even if that would only cover the first trimester c. I’m screwed, but good to know now so I don’t go the next year thinking I have NAF in the bag. There goes any chance of affording a ton of schools and a key part of my planned Apps.

Sorry I’m just venting.

Oh, my bad, maybe it’s the Hispanic one that’s run by different people. You’ll be alright though.

I think I’m just overreacting I will be fine even if I don’t get it.
