@ShrimpBurrito South Carolina, I had a 221 so I was fairly confident but it feels good to confirm.
@Aerophage you might want to update Art Sawyer over at Compass Prep (can’t post the link as that’s against the TOS but I can PM you if you want or it’s an easy google search). He’s been waiting on news of SC.
*sigh … still waiting! GC indicated today that school has not yet received any mail from NMSC!

Same boat here, @Punky99 ! Counselor told me this morning that they still don’t have the list!! We are in WA.
Isn’t today the day when schools can call National Merit and and be given the info?
@RoonilWazlib99 … we’re international, so I can understand the delay in the post getting to us. But WA?! Good luck… I hope you hear super soon!
@3scoutsmom … Won’t that be the 13th, when they make the press release?
@3scoutsmom is correct, I was told by NMSC that schools can call NMSC September 5 and get NMSF info. Families/students won’t be given any information until after the September 13 press release though.

That is good to know. I’m not going yo bug the counselor again at this point. They are super busy with freshman orientation today and first day of school tomorrow.
I’m not going to bug the GC here either; the school has students and teachers impacted by Harvey and I’m sure the GCs will be busy with more important things this week as the students go back after the storm. I doubt any of them will have time to call NMSC this week if the letters haven’t arrived. I will bug the GC later if necessary to get the school’s portion of the NMF submittal done, but hopefully that won’t be needed. The GCs are very experienced with the NMF application process so even with the unfortunate storm impact they will know they need to get their part done on time.
Of course although I’m mostly zen about NMSF now, if I knew someone with access to “the book” I would be sucking up to that person like nobody’s business. I know that S is in NMSC’s system but seeing his name on the NMSF list will still be a relief.
I so feel for those of you who are still waiting–I hope that you hear real soon and that it is the news that you are hoping for.
Saw “the book” today in counselor’s office. I believe she’ll let me have it if I ask… Would that be useful to anyone on here?

Has anyone gotten any information on how to apply for finalist? I just talked to my GC and she said that I should’ve received information about it in my email but I haven’t received anything 
@jswani In theory, that shouldn’t lead to being swamped with requests since the majority have heard already. It is just those on the long delay who are hanging on the ledge still. Thank you for the offer (in the event you ARE able to gain access to it).

Also, idk, and it wouldn’t actually matter for me but I feel like the >221 on Art’ s list could be wrong bc how did one person know they didn’t make it if the rest of the state didn’t get any mail? They could of freaked out and assumed they didn’t make it bc of lack of mail.
