no academic awards and honours

hey im applying ed to penn this year. The problem is that i havnt won any prizes or honours with regards to academics so the section asking for honours in the commonapp is blank. but i am in the to 10% of my class and my teachers and councelors will attest my strong grades and academic potential in their recos. so will not having any prizes hurt my chances ?

thanks a lot

not even ap scholar awards?

nope im from mumbai, india. my school doesnt offer ap courses

i see. how are your EC’s?

does your school award prizes for academic honors? if not you could explain it.

A lot of international students find ways to take AP tests, anyway. MOST people that apply to Penn have excellent “academic potential.” If you’re applying internationally, have recognizable awards, a near-perfect SAT, and be FIRST in your class. Otherwise, there are many excellent US schools which will accept you; make sure you try those. If you’re interested in business, The Stern School of NYU is excellent.
