No Aid To NMH :(

Why can’t I be 2 years older? :p

Thanks for the info Queen while clearly it isn’t what we want to hear it’s best to be realistic and know the situation so thanks and good luck to your child!

COMGRATS RAD!
They didn’t even put u on the w/l for the FA?

No, though it helps ease the pain they didn’t W/L me. That would make me feel PRETTY bad. btw, excuse my cheez  ^

what other schools do you have?

Heard From: PEA, NMH
Yet to hear from: SPS, Choate, Williston, Taft

Hi Rad,

Last year the same thing happened to my son at NMH, and he was wait-listed at a HADES school as well. Financial was the reason. You asked what do you do? He attended the best public school we could get him into for our area. We have something called “school of choice,” and a student from another district can put in an application. It is by lottery. He won a seat a couple of years ago, and he likes the high school, so he feels if again financial aid is his downfall, he is still in a good school. Tonight he went to the gym to play basketball, and he doesn’t seem stressed. The other thing about his high school is that he can take courses at a prestigious college next year as a junior, which the school has an agreement with.

At any rate, life goes on, and you make the best out of it. Just prepare to do well and get into the best college that you can. Or you can always apply next year…

…My district is the wort in the state…I don’t really have options too b/c they already did their lottery thing :(

Rad I looked up your school when you linked it ages ago. I wasn’t stalking lol you linked it. Anyway it was in the top 5% of american HS!

was this MY school? Oh, that stupid silver award- that means nothing, they still suck.big time.

But not my school, my district.

Yeah your charter school lol

IMHO. Taft rhinos are wayy cooler than NMH hoggers…whatever that is

haha yes  :D

you’re not on the financial aid waitlist??

They said no aid whatsoever :(

I’m sorry. If I was in your position, I could not go to NMH. I would just shrug it off and move on. I’m sure you’ll get another opportunity at a different school, but if you don’t you can always make the best of your public school experience. I’m sure your school can’t be that bad for everybody. If you try hard, you can make your experience worthwhile.

wow… that’s crazy  you applied for FULL FA? maybe there’s a way you guys could afford it… idk. congrats, but sorry at the same time… :(

i agree with musisat. if your local public is okay, then just go there, or re-apply next year (dedication woooot) or try for UWCs.
:frowning: :frowning: :frowning: ackk this sounds like my worst nightmare… but you still have taft !!

Tuition is more than my mom makes a year lol

and my school isn’t that bad but i wouldn’t be in honors next year b/c my teachers don’t get that if you grade extra harsh instead of normal harsh to prepare u for honors WE WON’T GET IN HONORS
and ppl @ my school r WAY to ghetto and obnoxious

rad, they called my mom too, but we missed it. I’m pretty sure that’s what they were gonna tell us :(.

gaah. reapply (i’m applying next year) or UWC (my local one is a completely full scholarship school… how amazing is that?)

:$ taft taft taft taft taft

UWC? could you give me a link? i was thinking about Ridley Colege…
