My s’s work for a big Fortune 100 company. They are working from home. The company has sent out a notice ( I am paraphrasing, but essentially…) that the employees are not to pull any April Fools Day jokes today. Smart decision, but a sad sign of the times today 
Interesting memo to receive; understandable. It makes me think the company has a history of some pretty entertaining or elaborate April Fool’s day pranks.
Yes, they are a clever bunch, and its a big company. Smart to tell them to skip it today. Sad that folks might not be able to easily tell truth from humor right now.
I was thinking about that this morning. Definitely understandable. Reality has been so outrageous lately that we’re all pretty beat up.
I am going to miss those clever fake April Fools day ads tech companies have been doing the past few years.
I told my kids no jokes today! My daughter said, “Well, obviously!”
A relative of my H who is a dad with two young kids posted on FB that their state schools had announced cancelling for the rest of the year. Of course people started freaking out and commenting. He waited awhile until he said “April Fools!”
Not cool dude.
Told my S22 that the governor had just changed course and because not all districts were set up for effective E learning that all students would have to repeat the current year.
He shouted a few choice words and then instantly pulled out his phone to check the web. I told him April Fools before google loaded. He is not happy with me right now.
We’ve had several nice warm days but it’s cooling down just a bit, so DH told me there was snow on the ground when he took the dog for an early morning walk.
That’s as far as my Dad joke specialist dared go for April Fools Day.
