no chemical engineering?

I’m a student at the University of Alabama and we’re hosting an American Institute of Chemical Engineers conference in a couple of years. While researching various things, I’ve come across something unusual. The website of AIChE lists Duke as having a student chapter, but Duke doesn’t seem to agree. There’s little mention of AIChE on the Duke website, nor is there even a chemical engineering department.

I find it highly odd that a school without chemical engineering would have a chapter of a chemical engineering student organization. Does another department encompass chemE at Duke? Was there previously chemical engineering at Duke but no longer? Can somebody help clarify this for me? Thank you in advance!

Chemistry department? Idk. You technically don’t need a chemical engineering department to have a student chapter of AIChE, all you need is interest.
