I’m going to be starting my junior year of high school, and I don’t really have any extracurriculars under my belt; this is mostly because ECs weren’t offered at my old school, and I didn’t bother joining clubs or anything. How many extracurriculars should I try to take during the next two years to have a decent chance at a top-thirty or so college? Regarding my grades, I had mostly Bs with some Cs during my freshmen and about half of my sophomore years, but I was living in a country whose language I didn’t speak very fluently (and where the grading was unfair, at least at my school; but the adcoms wouldn’t know this). Now that I’m in the US again I have a ninety-five average, and I should be able to keep that up for the next two years. I’m also a URM if that matters.
