No $$ for college

I received a my financial Aid letter, I only get two loans for about $2500 each, but it reads Federal loan. I was going to Rutgers but since all I get is that amount, I am considering Richard Stockton College of NJ. I don’t think I will get any help there but is less money to repay. I don’t get Financial Aid because I married when I was 21 he makes more than $65.000 money, but we are getting divorced and I have been living alone for the past year and I have always payed my college and my expenses. I just graduate with an associate degree and my plans are to transfer and finish my 4 year education but at this point I don’t know how I am gonna make it. Any advised? Rutgers and a $$$$debt or Stockton and $ debt. I need help… Thanks

Appeal and explain your situation. They might change your aid package after this. Or resubmit your tax stuff. :)

How old are you? Are you old enough to file for independent based on your age? If so, you might want to contact Rutgers about your situation. If you are not old enough, though, and you want to tell them about your separation … you’d probably revert to dependent. That may or may not be to your advantage. It won’t hurt to contact the f/a office & talk to them.

I am 25. I filed taxes with him because of some other legal papers so I dont think my taxes will help. But our divorce case was just mail to the court, maybe that will help. I will talk to Financial Aid, I hope they help me or I will have to go to Stockton or work a lottt and go to school next year, but I don’t want to do that, I did that mistake when I finish high school and delay college for 4 years.

Thanks for your help ;)
