Anyone happen to catch the show Decoded on History Channel about the possibility of no gold in Fort Knox? Very interesting show and topic

The NIA documentaries on that topic are also interesting. I don’t see any reason to believe that there IS any gold housed there.

I am very worried if that were true, the ensuing public uproar, and possible financial consequences would be unthinkable.

When Armageddon arrives…and there are two groups of people left…those with food and those with gold…I want to be on the side of those with food…unless those with gold beat up those with food…by hitting those with food on their heads with gold bars.

Ron Paul has been saying that for years. Considering how we are able to print money at will and our monetary system is no longer tied to a gold standard, I’m not sure why it would make much difference whether there really is gold in Fort Knox.

My son was watching that show, and I saw some of it. My cousin is an accountant at Fort Knox. I’ll have to ask him! :)

The Federal Reserve drew up plans to seize precious metals from safety deposit banks in the aftermath of 911. They also looked at seizing mining shares in the case of an emergency. I suppose that food > gold + silver in the even of shortages. But food + gold + silver would make for a better combination.

No gold in Fort Knox? Damn you, Goldfinger!

OK, he was going to set off a “dirty” bomb, same difference.

What’s next - U.S. Grant isn’t buried in Grant’s Tomb?

I’ve been led to believe alcohol is very useful for barter in the event of a short-term catastrophe.

:)…

They sure are guarding something there. My H was in ROTC training there, and one night he & his friends got mixed up returning to base & took some wrong turns. Wound up in front of heavy duty gates with all the bright lights turned on them and “What are you doing here!” or its equivalent being blared at them through a speaker.

…and the moon landings were faked, the Bush administration blew up the World Trade Center, the CIA and FBI murdered JFK, and the Air Force has the remains of an alien spacecraft that crashed in New Mexico.

…and the Freemasons control everything. Or is that the Jews? I forget. Which conspiracy rules the world this week?

I own Central Fund of Canada which holds gold in a bank in Canada. They gold is audited once a year. I don’t see why Fort Knox can’t do the same thing every ten years.

A lot of funny stuff has gone on in the gold market for the last thirty years and the Federal Reserve has admitted to market manipulation in that market (yeah, they mess in a lot of other markets too but no Central Bank wants a dollar crash). There are many examples of Central Bank intervention in the gold markets but the price is still a lot higher than ten years ago even while the small player disgorges his gold.
