If I didn’t take honors math in high school until my senior year, will that eliminate my chances at Berkeley? I had a bad start freshman year and I was told by all my math teachers (that I was getting easy A’s in) and counselor that I shouldn’t take honors math so I never did. Right now as a senior I’m taking AP statistics and regular precalc. Should I just prepare myself for a rejection letter, study for the math lvl II test, and hope to attempt at a letter of appeal?

I personally know 2 students that did not take honors math in high school and were accepted at Cal (both applied to L&S). One was my eldest child. It’s definitely not a requirement for admission, although it depends on the major you’re applying to.
