No hopes of Pre-pharmacy? =/

<p>Hi everyone! =D
I hope CC treats me well…</p>

<p>So, I am a U.S. citizen, living abroad for a couple of years. I have given my GCE O Level and my AS Level, and will finish A Level in May/June this year. </p>

<p>First of all, I am a Bengali girl (not sure if it matters, but I’ve seen a lot of people mention ethnicity and gender on CC in their posts)</p>

<p>Grades
I really hope you are aware of the UK education system =)</p>

<p>O Level
All A’s (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Maths B, Pure Maths, and Bengali)
and one B (English, sad, right?)</p>

<p>AS Level (11th grade, which only counts for half of my entire A Level grade btw)
…is pretty crappy</p>

<p>B in Chemistry, missed an A for two marks! Not going to repeat it, since I can probably bring it up to an A with my 12th grade scores.
C in Biology, which doesnt really count I guess because I’ll be repeating it in January, and hoping for an A this time <em>fingers crossed</em></p>

<p>A Level
A* in Math, finished the entire A Level course last year</p>

<p>Will give only AS (11th grade) physics in May since it’s not exactly my strongest suit along with my 12th grade exams</p>

<p>And I recieved an 1870 in SAT I ='( and I’ll be retaking it in November
1270 CR+Math, 600 in Writing =/</p>

<p>SAT II in December, I’ll probably be sitting for Chemistry, Biology and Math II.</p>

<p>I’m not sure of what my rank is, or whether my school even reports ranks. But even if it does, I dont think it’d be too high; I attend a VERY competitive private school. GPA isn’t reported.</p>

<p>Essays are moderate
Teacher recommendations are really good though
Mid year report will hopefully consist of all A’s</p>

<p>ECA’s
-Volleyball in 11th grade
-Debate in 11th and 12th grade, lots of tournaments, and i am the general secretary of the debate club
-Interned at a local public hospital for in summer 2010 and 2011 and the letter of recommendation from the doctor is really good
-Probably over 250+ hours of community service in 11th and 12th grade
-Was a dancer in my schools cultural club in 11th grade
-Have tutored a few kids in 10th and 11th grade</p>

<p>Pre-pharm is not a major, so no one can stop you from attempting pre-pharm. You major in whatever you want and take the pre-pharm pre-reqs that are similar to pre-med pre-reqs. Many pre-pharm students major in Chemistry.</p>

<p>Since you’re abroad, I’m guessing that you’re not instate for any state schools. What is your budget? Most of your schools give little aid.</p>

<p>Your chances at many of the schools are good. Rice is a huge reach. Florida is a reach because you’re OOS.</p>

<p>I’m from North Carolina and You would definitely get into Campbell University, except it still costs a lot.</p>
