No hospital hours?

Hi guys, I always wanted to major in neuroscience and this summer I have decided to take on the pre-med as a pre-professional path in college. Would it put me at a disadvantage to colleges that I don’t have any hospital hours, especially since that work doesn’t really have to do with medicine anyway? I have other ECs such as a research internship etc. but would the lack of hospital hours make a difference? Thank you!

anyoneeeeeee?

No. No university is going to down-rate you for applying without ‘hospital hours’. In fact, they won’t really take your pre-med declaration very seriously in the admissions department b/c they know how many high school students start out as pre-med - and they know how many end up applying to med school. They will be interested that you are interested in something, that you have been exploring it, and that you working your way forward to figuring it all out. Otherwise, nbd.

Thank you!
