I got a 3.2 gpa in high school
AP calc
AP spanish
AP physics
sat scores are as follows
570 on writing
560 on math
530 on reading

I took the SAT recently and I can do better if I retake it. I did not realize the importance of the test.

I have no extracurricular activities, but I have had a full time job for 5 years and can get a letter of recommendation from my boss who is a doctor.

is it possible to get into a state school with this or maybe a UC? no one in my family has ever gone to college so this is all new to me. I can pay for school without assistance also.

-go to a CC, get a Transfer Agreement Guarantee with any UC (except LA and Cal), and transfer after 2 years. Each UC has a different benchmark for the guarantee and you have to follow their instructions to the letter.

-get a high enough SAT score to qualify for admission to a UC directly. This entails approximately a 1850, but check on the UC website to be sure. You’ll probably only be able to make it to UCM or UCR for this scenario.

Any CSU except SDSU, or Cal Poly should admit you. But you can apply to those two competitive CSUs, as well as UCM/UCR, all of which you have a chance for.
