Dear friend’s app was not complete until Jan 6…still no word about interview. Should applicant call?
Not all applicants will receive an interview offer as it is dependent on whether there are enough alumni in your area to cover the number of applicants. There is also no connection between being offered an interview and being offered admission. Still, it’s a good idea to check the e-mail junk folder to make sure an offer did not get re-routed there.
I was wondering the same thing. My son applied RD in the early fall, and his application has been complete for months. No word about an interview yet—nor, to his knowledge, has anyone else from his school who applied to Princeton RD been contacted for an interview. We live in an area where there are probably many Princeton alumni, and there has been nothing in the e-mail spam folder.
For my alma mater, approx 5% volunteer to do interviews. With the doubling of apps since the adoption of the Common App and other cultural shifts, it’s near impossible to do 100% interviews. Concurrently, schools rely less on them. Having or not having one is not an issue. It’ll be fine. Many posts on CC express this anxiety. Try to let it slip off your back.
Thanks, @T26E4—I’m guessing that at this point it probably won’t happen.
okay, good to know. thx
