The thread I started naming colleges NOT giving merit aid or very little of it has been classified as “invalid”. Hmmm … maybe someone doesn’t want that info out there. Does CB run this site?

(I poked my head up. PM’s are glitching and I found this. LOL.)

Ha ha ha ha aha. God , you people are a riot. Keep 'em coming.

No, it couldn’t be the system wide glitch effecting all of CC. It’s a vast conspiracy to silence this super thread.

Lighten up , nightingale. As the good doc used to tell me- “take a chill pill”. This ain’t earth shattering news and the great conspirators haven’t stolen your podium. Software glitch. That’s all it is. :)

You’ll be back raking the muck, and rousing the rabble before you can say “AREA51ELVIS”.

Seems ok now!
I just posted to it and brought it to the top.

HA! But I have to wait 60 seconds before I can make this (second) post!!!

Hey Curmudgeon… What “You people” are you referring to? Don’t make assumptions as to people’s politics. I don’t know you and you don’t know me. How about some constructive posts rather then hiding under a bridge like a ■■■■■ and trying to anger people. I would have expected more from a “Senior Member” If racking the muck means letting people know what colleges DON’T give merit aid, and thus, saving them from wasting thier time… so be it. What’s your agenda?

Agenda? Hmmmm. Tilter to windmills? North by Northwest? LUNCH!!! 5 day weekends and 2 day work weeks. Veblen for President? Bring back Whip N’ Chill Dessert? Denying there was ever a Super Bowl IV? Fifty-four forty or fight? Amnesty for Library books due ohhhhhh., let’s say…August 3rd, 1978? Trying to  you off? People in Wyoming shouldn’t be allowed to receive Social Security? Chicken in every pot? Removing all the “gay” letters from the alphabet? (Who uses Q or the little G anyway and have you ever noticed how suggestively they are shaped? Makes you blush, doesn’t it? ) Nascar and Wal-Mart are both fronts for the Republican National Committee?

Pick one. I’m equally vigilant on all.

Why don’t you use the search function, dearie if you want to know my agenda. It’s pretty clear after …OMG… that’s a lot of posts!!!..You’ll figure it out.

And about that “chill pill”. Around here that’s not being rude. If so, I was “ruded” many times when I first arrived. It is just common advice around here when someone gets their shorts all wadded. Lighten up , or you’re not going to make it. Have some humor. Take some joy in the process. It can be a great bonding time for you and your kid if you’ll let it happen. Dial it back a few degrees. Nobody was trying to sabotage your thread . And try to snag me a fried banana and peanut butter sandwich if you could. 'preciate it. Ciao.

Instead of prescribing meds to others maybe you should go hunt up yours (been off them for a day or two now, have you?).

Curmudge? Off his meds? I dunno, he sounds like he’s in optimal form, to me. But then I’ve always had a warped sense of humor.

True, what some might call optimal form another might call mean. I guess that’s true in life as well as message boards.

No doubt there is mean-ness on this board, as on others. I didn’t see it in Curm’s post; just good-natured kidding. I’m actually surprised that this thread hasn’t been closed yet; it began on an unfortunate note, and probably isn’t serving much use since.

Hold your horses please! I don’t know why you got an “invalid” message while trying to post on the other thread. It was likely some computer glitch for a moment. The thread is still there and people are posting on it. If we didn’t want it there, it would be deleted. If it needed to be closed according to reasons to do with the Terms of Service, we’d close it. None of that happened, before you go complainin’. Further, we don’t delete or close threads as to whether we “like” a topic or not. It doesn’t work that way. We enforce the Terms of Service. As well, if you read CC’s forums over time, you will see MANY threads that discuss Merit Aid. We welcome such discussions.

CC is not run by the College Board. It is totally unrelated. Perhaps you ought to peruse the site a bit more and see of yourself who owns the site. CC is run by a firm of College Counselors who offer college counseling for fees. However, the site includes many free “services” including these very active discussion forums. We also offer free “Ask the Dean” college advice columns with one of our senior counselors. The site has various resources and articles on it. Many appreciate all the free stuff, as well as the availability of these helpful forums.

We welcome you to post and want new people to join in all the time. But if you are going to complain about the site, maybe it is not for you. The original discussion about schools that do not offer Merit Aid ought to continue on the original thread. This thread here serves no purpose. As well, when you start a thread on a topic, you can’t control the direction that the discussion goes in. Others are welcome to disagree and the discussion may go in different directions than you may have intended or wished. That is the nature of a discussion forum. Your schools that don’t offer Merit Aid “list” is not an “official” one and is open to dispute, as well as there are some very knowledgeable posters on the thread who have been around the block with college admissions who are offering information and sharing experiences. All are welcomed.
