<p>Sounds trite, but maybe you didn’t have need. Not everyone gets need-based aid…and some people who really need the aid, don’t get it.</p>
<p>Re-examine your FAFSA and/or CSS.</p>
<p>Also, realize that some colleges are much more stingy than others.</p>
<p>Your individual situation should give you some insight into what happened.</p>
<p>Remember, too, that you can always appeal your award.</p>

<p>^ Not true. Some colleges like to advertise the percentage of their students on financial aid. For the Ivies, it’s mostly around 50% on financial aid.</p>
