My son’s school has only 3 AP courses and he’s taking all of them now,
Math, Physics and Chemistry. He is Grade 11 now.
And he’ll take AP tests this May.

Compared to other top guys who are taking a lot of AP courses plus excellent GPA, extra curriculars, etc…, the 3 subjects are too short.
So I told my son to do self study statistics(as he likes Math) for this May test.

But as just adding 1 more AP test doesn’t look boosting his chance in admissions and also MIT admissions Matt told in his blog, the no. of AP test doesn’t much count on admissions process, should I rather encourge him to spend his time on International Olympiad chemistry test for this July ?, as he is too busy preparing for this test and other things like other guys aiming for top schools.

What is your advice ?
