Your high school record isn’t seen by anyone in law school admissions obviously? Correct?

As in, I was a pathetic high school student, so I went to a community college in california. I’ve kept up a 4.0 with around 50 units while here, and am transfering to Cornell in the fall.

Can I say on my law school app that I choose a community college for financial reasons, rather than out of necessity? Like, they wouldn’t know if it’s true or not?

I don’t think they care why you go to a community college. Your undergraduate GPA, LSAT score, and some soft factors while you are in college are way more important. So do not worry about your community college attendance.

they will not see HS performance. you are completely fine, and in fact are in a GREAT position. if you manage to keep your GPA above 3.9 while at cornell you will probably be headed somewhere good (assuming high lsat of course).

I believe that in many colleges, the undergraduate record does show which high school the student attended prior to college. But HS grades, no. How is that relevant, anyway? It was years earlier, before you “grew” in college? :)

I don’t think the fact JR has gone to CC matters. However, why lie? You don’t need to explain why you went to CC. Again if doesn’t matter. But LYING about the reason you did is an all together different matter. THAT could matter.
