…That’s the song gtown plays at Verizon Center before the team comes out duhh.

Ok so I got deferred EA and I would like to know what I should do to increase my chances of getting in Regular. I got into BC already but I am DYING to go to Gtown. What do you think my chances are.

White Male, NJ
Rank: not given but 12-15 out of 240 i would suppose
SAT: 710 M 690 V (1400)
SAT II’s: 760 US History, 730 MII, 700 Chem
3 Sport Varsity Athlete (Baseball, Soccer, Track) big time commitment
Over 110 hours volunteering at Hospital- especially important because I am applying as a Pre-Med
Other volunteering for Not-for-profit organizations.

Also I am a legacy. My grandfather attended undergrad and med school there, and got the founders award (whatever that means) and also wrote me a recommendation but he is by no means in with the adcom because he had never heard of the word deferred when I told him.

What do you guys think, and what can I do to show Georgetown this is really where I want to be?

you have a good class rank. pretty good sats (a little bit low for g-town), good SAT IIs, really good ecs (especially volenteering at hospital) … and it always helps to have a legacy, but what’s your Unweighted GPA and also what course are you (ap, regular) that would help ppl chance you better, but from the info hear it looks like you have a pretty good shot, but there a lot of smart ppl who apply to g-town so could go either way
good luck!
… and g-town is amazing … personally i would definitly choose it over BC

3.8 Unweighted
All Honors and AP’s most rigorous schedule.
Senior Year Schedule: AP Calc BC, AP Chem, AP Gov, Hon. Physics, Hon Latin Prose, Hon English

GPA is solid. I don’t mean to be the bearer of bad news but from statistics available to me, deferred get a worse chance at admission.

From my high school’s history, from the the 28 people who applied and got deferred, only 1 was granted admission in the regular decision review. Compare with 18/58 accepted early action. (before you start debating my numbers, consider withdrawn apps, waitlisted people and denied people)

Your stats are excellent, including your SAT I score of 1400/1600. Why Georgetown over BC? What do you plan to study? Your athleticism suggests that Boston College is a great option for you.

Economics with Pre-Med concentration. BC is great. I’ll be fine with going there if Georgetown rejects me, but I am just in love with this school.
