I’m getting nervous. D has applications in to NAU and ASU and our 2015 income shows no need, so we’re in our own for FAFSA. My husband was let go of his job last Oct, still looking for employment. The appeal form keeps being promised for both schools, but nothing yet. I’m seeing scholarship opportunities slip away as many of them are needs based. Why do they wait so long to make this form available? I can’t believe there’s no one else in our shoes.
Apply for the scholarships. Usually when you get professional judgment to change your eligibility, it is used just by that school to change Pell eligibility and any need based aid for that school. I’m not sure what scholarships would change?
Thanks. She did apply for the NAU first scholars scholarship. It is based on academics and FAFSA need, but I’m hoping the process time takes as long as getting the appeal form back and reviewed.
Many (maybe most) schools do not take appeals this early. The parent can get a job in between now and the time school begins, so the date is generally closer to the summer or even fall.
