What effect does having a “no pass” in a transferrable class have? Same as a D or F? What can it do to someones chances of going to Berkeley?

same as an F probably. Just retake it. Not a HUGE deal. Taking for a grade is best.

I always thought that a no pass was the same thing as an F and would have the same consequences. However, a poster on another thread who was rescinded for getting an F reported that he was told by the admissions office at UCSD that if he had received a no pass in the course instead of an F he would not have been rescinded. I suspect he may have been confused or the person in admissions answering his question was misinformed but I guess it could be possible that in the UC system a no pass is for some reason not seen as damning as an F.
