No Physics or math beyond precal?

Does it mean I’m automatically rejected?

Although its an expectation that you took physics a math beyond precalc, Harvard will consider how rigourous your class schedule and other components.

No–you’ll be fine. That is why Math Ma was set up. One of my S’s closest friends (and he is in 55) is a complete math phobe and a bunch of 55’ers tutored her through Math Ma. She made it through without undue trouble-- don’t get me wrong, she is still a math phobe but she passed the class. So will you :-)

I don’t have the most rigorous schedule due to special circumstances. WHat’s “Math Ma?”

Math Ma and Mb spread the introduction to calculus over 2 semesters (it’s the lowest level math class you can take)

So if I don’t have either physics and math beyond precal, will I be automatically rejected here?

does your school not OFFER physics/math beyond precal, or have you just not taken them?

Even if your school does, if you or others are, say, excellent visual artists or poets, the need to do calculus is not in anyway dispositive. Again, there are members of the freshman class that have never taken calculus and are thriving at Harvard–I should guess that very few Physics 16 folks have taken sculpture or advanced music theory, even if offered at their high schools…Don’t worry.

My school does offer them, but I have a unique situation so I ended up couldn’t taking them.
BTW, I know that missing either isn’t too much of a big deal, but will lacking both be very very detrimental?
