No Proffesor?

So I signed up for Beginners French at my cc mainly because it was a guarantee course no matter what. I was going to take Spanish but it wasn’t guaranteed. Problem is that its been weeks and under the professor’s name says “TBA”. I already order my books which are supposed to be here tomorrow.

I know every college is different but has this happen to anyone else? Should i just stick around and until the first day to see who the professor is. Or should i drop it? The class is pretty full [15/25] but the Spanish is 9/30

To clear things up at my community college a guarantee course is just that. Regardless of the number of students/anything else it won’t be changed.

I checked the other French classes and there seem to be just one professor for all. So by default should i just rely on that? I know this is a mess I’m just curious

If you are worried, you could email the department administrator to ask who the teacher is. Maybe they have hired someone but no one updated the online info yet. I don’t know why you would drop it.

Many colleges don’t get around to listing the instructor of a course, for a myriad of reasons. If the course is ‘guaranteed’, then it will go, and an instructor will be there to teach it.

It’s pretty common. Most of the time they just aren’t sure who is going to teach it yet, I had one of those until almost the first day of classes, but if it is guaranteed like you said and has enough people enrolled it should be offered
