so i just decided last week that i wanted to apply to princeton. i previously had not considered it b/c i am currently enrolled in a local state college and princeton does not accept transfers. however technically i should be in high school, i skipped my senior year, so i just thought i’d go for and maybe they wouldn’t mind/notice.

but now its just a couple days from the deadline and i have some problems…1) i have absolutly no SAT IIs 2) i have only 1 good teacher rec

so here’s the question concerning teacher recs. do i 1) only send in the one good rec 2) get one from a prof whose class i got an A in, but who doesn’t really know me (didn’t go to that class that often, and didn’t speak too much when i did, but certainly more than most people in the class) and is a little spacy or 3) wait a couple of weeks and get a rec from one of the profs i know who will be teaching me next semester who i know i can get a good rec from (probably wouldn’t get it in until early Feb at the earliest)

on top of all of that i’m sure every other part of the application (test scores, transcripts, recs etc) will be late.

sooo all things considered, do i just give up? i know it’s an incredible long shot, but i thought maybe i would have a chance if they though i was bold or something? anyone ever hear of people getting in w/ peices of the app late and/or missing?

Give it up. I really don’t think there’s any chance. You don’t even meet the basic requirements and your status as a college student “but maybe they’ll overlook it” is REALLY stretching it.

Regardless of whether or not you’re “supposed” to be in high school is irrelevant at this point. If you’ve graduated and enrolled in other college, you’d be applying as a transfer, no? I wish I had better news, but I’m afraid I’ll have to go with lindsey here and say you don’t have a chance, especially since you haven’t met the minimum requirements. Sorry, (wo)man.

don’t worry about it as of now. just do your app. if you skipped senior year, did you get an official diploma? cuz if you havnt, just say you thot high school classes were boring so you took all college level courses.

you can take sat 2s in jan… you can do standby.

this is definitely a special circumstance, just do and app and call them to ask later. good luck!

It really all rests on whether or not you’ve received your HS diploma, or if you’re just “in limbo.” If it’s the latter, then what PW said applies. If the former, then there’s no point in doing the app. What’s the case?

I don’t know that the special circumstances override the fact that they decided to start the application 2 days before the deadline and all of the materials will be late.

From the OP: …i am currently enrolled in a local state college…i skipped my senior year, so i just thought i’d go for and maybe they wouldn’t mind/notice.

From the impression I got from the OP, it doesn’t seem like there’s much of a chance. Sorry to be a downer.
